Job Overview:

TCF is on the hunt for a Legal Counsel to join our team on a part-time basis, dedicating 8+ hours per week. This role is integral in guiding TCF through the intricate legal terrain of equity agreements, ensuring compliance, and managing risk. With compensation rooted in our "Time for Equity" model, it's a prime opportunity for professionals seeking an alignment of their career with the growth potential of startups.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Contractual Drafting and Review: Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, primarily centred on equity agreements and related legal documents.

  2. Regulatory Compliance: Navigate and ensure alignment with UK jurisdiction laws, especially focusing on securities, employment, and corporate legislations relevant to our unique business model.

  3. Risk Management: Identify and advise on potential legal risks in contracts, suggesting proactive preventive measures.

  4. Dispute Resolution: Represent and advise TCF in potential legal disputes, collaborating with external legal entities as required.

  5. Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary contact for all legal discussions, interfacing with internal teams, clients, and outside counsel.

  6. Continuous Learning: Remain updated with the dynamic legal landscape, particularly concerning equity agreements and the startup environment.

Qualifications:

  • A Juris Doctorate or equivalent from a recognised law school.

  • Licensed to practice law in the UK.

  • A minimum of 3 years of corporate legal experience, ideally with a focus on equity agreements or startup environments.

  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and research skills.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Comfortable working remotely and efficiently managing tasks.
